Last week our beloved Queen Elizabeth II took one for the team when she met with President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania for afternoon tea at Windsor Castle.
Thousands of people had already made their thoughts on Donald's UK visit crystal clear, with a huge Women's March against the President taking place in London. But somehow Trump managed to piss us off even more, by leaving the Queen waiting for TEN MINUTES on live television no less and not forgetting his Bonnie Tyler total eclipse moment where he blocked her path.
Despite waiting for ten minutes in 80 degree heat, the Queen was ever the professional, but it turns out that she may have been throwing some very subtle shade the entire time... Classic Liz.
In a Twitter thread that will leave you feeling chilly from all the shade, Twitter user @SamuraiKnitter speculated that the Queen was actually trolling Donald with her choice of brooch, on not one, but three occasions.
The whole thread is below because the choice of Gifs is just perfection, but essentially the Queen loves a brooch in the same way that your Nan loves anything from the M&S Royal Jelly body collection and if you want to please her Majesty you can't go far wrong with a brooch.
While Trump was in town, the Queen wore three brooches, each one being just that little bit more sassy than the first.
Everyone's clicking on...
Day one, Elizabeth wore a brooch given to her by former President and First Lady, Barack and Michelle Obama.
As @SamuariKnitter explains, the brooch isn't flashy (it blends in very well with her dress) but it clearly holds a special place in the Queen's heart as it was gifted to her personally by Barack and Michelle *weeps*.
For her actual meeting with Trumpet Trump, her Majesty wore a brooch handed down by her mother, who famously wore it to her father's state funeral. If that's not a mood for your first meeting with Donald, than I don't know what is.
And her third brooch was a gift from Canada, our commonwealth country and ally, who Donald isn't a particularly great fan of.
Whether this is all a reach too far, who can say. All I know is I've never loved the Queen more.
