We all love Primark. They have excellent homeware collections, affordable new season buys and a great selection of dresses right now - but the one thing that's always been missing is a website you can order from.
While the retailer still isn't planning on launching a delivery service, there are rumours that a click and collect service is coming - meaning keen shoppers can reserve the buys they want online, before heading into store to collect them. Which is ideal if everything you want sells out before you have chance to bag it in the shop.
According to Davy the company’s chief executive Paul Marchant told a group of analysts earlier this month that they would be looking into switching up their services.
Davy reports that click and collect is “on the horizon," and added that “even when rolled out, a click-and-collect offering will only drive an incremental benefit for Primark.”
Basically, we will all use it. Obviously.
However, Primark is one of the top 20 retailers in the UK, but the only one in the list without a website you can purchase from - so there is a chance they'll stick by the "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" philosophy.
Everyone's clicking on...
Still, there's definitely a market for the service, if Twitter is anything to go by...
The question is, do we really need our online shopping habit enabling even further? While there's no doubt we'd definitely browse Primark online if we could, there's something joyful about wandering in and not knowing what you'll be coming out with (answer: everything).
