Virgin Island is back and about to hit our screens following a reunion special which revealed what some of the OG cast have been up to since the show first arrived last year.

The documentary-style reality TV show first launched back in May 2025, viewers divided over whether it was “creepy” or too “excruciating” or not.

Over the course of six episodes, as the show’s name suggests, 12 adult virgins take to an island to delve into their relationship with sex and their insecurities surrounding it, aided by several therapists.

Those participating in the show are also given sex surrogates to help navigate their relationship with sex, should they so choose to experiment this way.

But before we go diving into another series of cast members hoping to further their sexual exploration, how about taking a trip down memory lane to see where the contestants from season one are now? And how’s their journey with their sexuality and relationship to sex going?

Where are the cast of Virgin Island season 1 now?

Dave

Dave was the only contestant to lose his virginity on season one of the show. And during a special reunion episode released last week, Dave reflected on the “biggest thing” about his experience of the show certainly being that.

“Which millions of people have now seen, including my mum. Which I was not expecting,” he added.

Dave reflected on feeling like he was “in a really dark room and I didn't know where I was going” but since leaving the island has found a “tiny little torch” and while still “stubbing his toe” every now and again, he knows there’s “a light switch in the room” somewhere and what’s even better is he has “a chance of finding it”.

A year after the show he ended up in a relationship, but now? Well, he reflects: “I was desperate before the show and I was getting in any relationship I could before the show. I've learnt to not force it with someone I'm not happy with. I have had relationships with amazing people and I never would have had them without the show.”

Jason

Jason appeared on the show in 2025 struggling with being able to simply graze another person’s hand.

However, after shocking other cast members and viewers alike by being the first to strip off infront of the group, he may’ve not left the show the “sex god” he teased he might, but he sung the show’s praises for building his confidence nevertheless.

He said: “My life now, I am more confident. I can hold a conversation. When the time does come to do the deed I won't be scared.

“Dating - non existent right now and still working on it. But body confidence, I'm wearing short sleeves, I kind of love myself now.”

Taylor

Taylor had one of the biggest breakthroughs seen on the show after realising she is gay.

The receptionist entered the show stating she was bisexual but after working with a female coach came to the revelation she wasn't actually attracted to men after all.

In the reunion episode Taylor reflected on her love life as being a “mixed bag” since leaving the show.

She noted she remains a virgin but has kissed someone and overall has “so much confidence” from the experience.

Taylor resolved: “I hope I'll get to the stage where I'm dating and having a nice time that way. Hopefully at one point I will pop this cherry.”

Emma

Food worker Emma, 23, described herself as the DUFF (Designated Ugly Fat Friend) when she joined the show.

A year on she revealed she'd been travelling a lot since leaving the show and posted a TikTok of her wearing a short skirt, with the caption "not missing out on wearing a skirt because my legs are too long" - too right!

Two years later and her social media is littered with more of the same - beaches, food trips and a lot of exploration. We're only a little jealous...

Viraj

Since appearing on the show, Viraj has been travelling and focusing on his fitness journey after losing a lot of weight in 2024.

A year after the show, he spoke out about his experience on Virgin Island, hitting back at negative comments.

"I wanted to make this video because there's been a lot of attention on Virgin Island and since I was a part of it. I've been seeing the jokes, I've been seeing the memes and I've been seeing some pretty harsh comments, so I just wanna share my experience and be honest and open with everyone," he said in a video posted to his Instagram grid.

Viraj revealed that he joined the show for "personal reasons" following a "tough rejection" and that it wasn't about "sex" for him, but rather to gain confidence.

"My goal was to work on my confidence, to work on my social skills, and just feeling okay being me around women," he said.

He continued: "And honestly the experience changed me. I've come out of my shell so much more and I feel way more confident. I feel like I can open myself up very well and that growth, whatever that was that I did on the island, it changed me and I can't thank the therapists enough for those one-to-one workshops. It changed me massively."

Ben

Civil service worker Ben was the oldest participant on the show. He didn't lose his virginity on the show, but has since spoken out about his reasons for taking part. In an interview with The Times, he opened up about being bullied in the past and thanked Channel 4 for the way the sensitive topic was handled.

He said: "If this show helps to clear even a fraction of the stigma associated with being an adult virgin, it will have all been worth it.

"Even if it doesn’t, I know I got a lot out of it and I don’t regret taking part at all."

Tom

Drama student Tom, 24, has since graduated from the University of Exeter and the University of Manchester too!

Taking to Instagram he recently revealed: "My short screenplay 'Plenty of Fish' not only earned a place on their Gold List, but received a certificate of commendation on the night as well. "

Eek! Congrats Tom.

Holly

Dog groomer Holly was 23 at the time of going on the Channel 4 show. In her Instagram bio, Holly says she "decided to start being hot again" and has a plethora of glam selfies on her page.

And the latest - extremely exciting - update to her social media has since revealed news of an incoming baby!

Sharing a photograph of a scan alongside a babygrow with "coming soon" on it and positive pregnancy test to match, Holly's post reads: "Baby Grant Due August 2026"

Fellow Virgin Island cast member Tom commented: "Congratulations, you're going to be a great mum! X"

Congratulations!

Virgin Island: The Reunion is streaming on Channel 4 now, having been made available on the catch-up service from 20th April. Season 2 premieres on Channel 4 at 9pm on April 27.
