Love Island viewers were left in total shock during Friday night's episode (27th June) as an original Islander was dumped from the show following the public vote.

On Thursday, the public vote was opened as viewers were asked to vote for their favourite boy and girl.

During tonight's episode, the Love Island 2025 cast were gathered round the fire pit where they learnt that the public had been voting and the girl and boy with the least votes would be dumped.

As Ben, Remell and Harry had received the fewest votes from the public, they were at risk. Similarly, Toni, Shakira and Megan were in the bottom three, meaning one of them would be leaving.

Yasmin then received a text, saying that Remell had secured the least amount of votes from the public and would be going home. But, when it came to finding out which girl was going home, it shocked all the Islanders and us watching at home, as Dejon called out Megan's name.

Following the news, fans took to X (formerly Twitter), with one commenting: "The fact that Megan went from being the early favourite to win to dumped in the first public vote is crazy work."

"I did not expect Megan to actually be dumped," another added.

"Wow they dumped Megan," a third wrote.

Megan's dumping comes after she called things off with her partner Tommy, who she'd been coupled up with from the start. Harry had told Tommy to be weary of her as he thought she liked Conor more than she was letting on. He commented that Megan got "giddy" when speaking to Conor, and Tommy questioned her about this.

She hit the roof, accusing Tommy of trusting Harry "of all people" over her and didn't speak to him for a few hours. During this time, she went to the terrace with Conor and they kissed twice. She told Tommy about this later, but they ended up having another argument because he felt she owed him an apology.

They eventually called things off because he didn't want to be in a love triangle, and she cracked on with Conor, going to the Hideaway with him moments after he let Emily know that they'd been kissing while she was at the sleepover.

New episodes of Love Island air on ITV2 on weekdays and Sundays.
