There's less than a month to go until the return of Ncuti Gatwa for his second season as the 15th Doctor in the new series of Doctor Who on BBC and Disney+. And ahead of the new series dropping, the BBC just released all the titles of season two episodes and let's just say, there's a lot to discuss.

On 22 March the BBC shared a thread on X (formerly known as Twitter) where they posted the name of all eight new episodes, along with who wrote and directed each episode, and crucially a little video teaser for each episode.

And of course, since the release the Whovians have done what they do best and began theorising into all the possible meanings each episode title could have. Ready for a deep dive? Here's what to know about each Doctor Who season two title.

What meanings and clues can we get from the Doctor Who episode titles?

Robot Revolution

The first episode of the season is called 'Robot Revolution', which has naturally led to many fans questioning if we'll be seeing the return of classic robot figures the Cybermen in the episode.

The video teaser also features a video screen and in the corner it says "Planet Belinda", which if you've been doing your Doctor Who homework, you'll know is the name of the Doctor's new companion played by Varada Sethu.

Lux

The second episode is called 'Lux' which means light in Latin and the teaser clip shows a flashing light, so we're guessing there's going to be something to do with electricity or light in some way?

The Well

For the third episode in the series, the video shows what appears to be something like an underground bunker, and some fans have been theorising this could be a "base under siege" esque Doctor Who plot. This basically means the Doctor and his companion arrive in an isolated/desolate area that is under siege and he has to save the group from the monster.

Lucky Day

The fourth episode video teaser gives a big clue as to what the episode centres on as it shows a poster of Ruby Sunday (Millie Gibson). If you recall, the last season ended with Ruby and the Doctor going their separate ways, and so it appears we will be getting a reunion in season two.

The Story & The Engine

Ok so it appears the fifth episode will centre on something to do with four missing people who are identified in a missing poster, that sees a spider crawl on it.

The Interstellar Song Contest

Anyone else getting major Eurovision vibes from this title? Going off the title and the image we've seen of Rylan in what appears to be a game show esque background, we reckon the episode will have something to do with a talent contest?

And many fans have also highlighted as the episode is due to come out the exact same day as the Eurovision final, it's likely to have a link to the song contest.

Wish World

The video graphics for 'Wish World' show off a clock, which likely suggests the episode is going to have something to do with time twists, and different dimensions.

The Reality War

The finale episode is titled 'The Reality War' and the video teaser shows a sign of Hackney disappearing.

One popular fan theory circulating online right now, is that Mrs Flood has been controlling a universe show and trapped the Doctor in it without his realisation. One X user wrote: "My theory right now is that it’s going to be revealed that the Doctor is in a tv show but it’s like an in universe show that he recently got trapped in probably by Mrs. Flood who’s controlling the events around him. Maybe she’s feeding off the chaos or something?"

Another shared a similar theory: "Ok so what if the finale is linked to this episode [episode two] and is about Mrs Flood making the Doctor realise HE'S inside a tv show. And that's why she can break the fourth wall and talk to us directly and knows how his story will end."

Regardless of what the storyline is, fans seem pretty certain Mrs Flood, played by Anita Dobson, will be returning in some capacity for this finale episode. Well clear your calendar for 31 May to find out for sure.
