ITV's latest spy thriller is here and while we're well and truly seated, the cast and crew of Secret Service were anything but, gallivanting around not just London but locations across Europe to film the series.

After putting down her gun in the role of Quantum of Solace's Bond Girl, Gemma Arterton is picking a firearm back up again for the role of senior MI6 officer and also mum, Kate Henderson. Henderson is in charge of the Russia desk and finds herself running a covert, high-risk operation - and there's a lot on the line.

Arterton stars alongside Rafe Spall, Khalid Abdalla and Alex Kingston among others. And a whole host of great locations were used to film the espionage series too.

So, instead of you having to put on your thinking cap and figure out where you've seen that one building before, we decided to round up some of the main locations you're set to see in the TV series.

You never know, maybe you'll fancy adding the island to your travel list for a last-minute getaway this summer.

Where was Secret Service filmed?

Filmed in Spring 2025, Secret Service was mainly filmed in London and one particular Mediterranean island.

And it certainly wasn't a straight-forward feat - Kate's role as an MI6 agent meaning a lot of scenes had to be made to look like highly secretive locations which you definitely can't film in.

Prepare to find out where they filmed instead.

Where is Kate's house?

First things first, let's start in Kate's lovely family house where the series begins.

The cast and crew filmed in West London in the suburbs of Ealing.

The production team found a location which they could transform into a family home, particularly one with teenage kids, "with lots of books, a garden and a big TV," as quoted by CN Traveller.

Where is Rev's house?

Rev is one of the agents who works alongside Kate and viewers are given as insight into his home too.

The production team found a home in the prime zone two location of NW6 in London - the postcode covering Kilburn, West Hampstead, Queen's Park and Brondesbury.

Rev's clearly not doing too shabbily for himself either - where do we get a job in M16?!

Where is Ryan's house?

The Labour Party's foreign secretary Ryan certainly has more than just a quid or two to spend on his living accommodation.

The team aptly found a filming location in Ladbroke Grove - yes, a road in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea located near Portobello Road Market

Think high ceilings, lavish open-plan living space and a kitchen you've definitely saved on your Pinterest board.

Where is Imogen's house?

Ryan Walker's rival, Imogen certainly has a home to match, the filming location situated in Cavendish Close.

Although, it's lack of garden gate resulted in production having to cheat it and find a garden gate in a home in Acton to pop in instead.

Where are the cabinet office scenes filmed?

Unsurprisingly, the real-life cabinet office isn't exactly keen on film crews popping in to do a spot of filming. So, the Old Royal Naval college was used instead.

Where are the Prime Minister's office and No.10 scenes filmed?

Harefield House was used for inside shots of the Prime Minister's office.

And instead of battling the crowds always outside of the real No.10, alongside attempting clearance, John Adam Street was used for external shots of the building. John Adam Street handily located just round the corner from the real No.10 anyway.

Where are the MI6 scenes filmed?

The exterior shots of the MI6 building - located on the bank of the Thames in London - are real.

However, unable to film inside the actual M16 headquarters - shocker - Secret Service took to an empty building in Haye from the 1960's brutalist era to replicate the interiors, using green screens to fake the window views of the Thames.

“We have some knowledge that the interiors are actually like so we decided that we would be best to build the interior,” ITV added. “Our wonderful designers and set decorators turned it into our very own SIS headquarters, built the tiger trap doors, and we used green screens behind the windows in order to drop in the views across the Thames.”

Where are the Helsinki and Moscow scenes filmed?

A few scenes set in Helsinki were reportedly filmed in the capital of Finland, however, others were filmed back home in London.

Interior shots were filmed in a modern flat in Clerkenwell. Exterior shots took place in Victoria - specifically outside an Italian restaurant. See if you can try and figure out which one when you watch it and the next time you head to Victoria to catch a train.

The scene depicting a lake in Finland was actually an area near Guildford in a National Trust property. Hurtwood Forest was used for the scenes on the border.

The team also decided it best to film the scene set in Moscow in Battersea Park instead, right by the fountain.

Which Mediterranean island did Secret Service film on?

The series filmed in the areas of Valletta, Birgu, Isla and Dingli on the Mediterranean island of Malta.

The European country is located between Sicily and the North African coast and is known for its breath-taking historic sites, fortresses and temples.

Known for its beaches, boating and sunshine for 11 hours a day with temperatures reaching 26-27 in summer and basically no rain - who wouldn't want a quick trip to Malta?

Although, while we can't imagine anything nicer than jetting off to Malta to do some filming in the sun, that's not to say filming on the island didn't pose certain challenges.

During a Q&A for the series, director James Marsh revealed the "fight" to stay on-budget, alongside fighting "time" and "the light" was tough, but thankfully not "too painful," as quoted by Radio Times.

"I think it was well produced, it was well organised, and I don't think we ever got too restricted in terms of scooting through things too quickly," he resolved.

ITV added, as per TV Guide: "We had a brilliant Maltese locations team who found the most incredible villa near the coastal cliffs of Dingli with an infinity pool and numerous outbuildings. We moved to the historic streets of Rabat for the approach to the important meetings in the church, in actual church we found in Senglea."

Secret Service begins tonight (Monday, 27th April) at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
