Eurovision is over for another year and sadly, the UK's entry didn't do as well as we'd all hoped – although, based on the UK's track record at the song contest, they were really up against it.

ICYMI, Remember Monday came in 19th (out of 26 places) in yesterday's Eurovision Song Contest with their song, 'What The Hell Just Happened?'. The musical trio (more on them in a moment), received zero votes from the public but did manage to rack up 88 points in jury scoring.

Now, just a day on from their disheartening defeat at Eurovision, Remember Monday has broken their silence about the results, their experience and their plans for the future. "WOW - what a ride!" the statement begins. "Three best mates walked onto the world's biggest music stage and came out with a Top 10 Jury score, massive streaming numbers and memories that will last a lifetime."

"Performing at Eurovision was one of the most surreal and emotional moments of our lives. The love we've felt from fans, our incredible team and everyone who streamed, voted and believed in us has been overwhelming," they went on. "This is just the beginning for Remember Monday. We've got new music coming your way, a UK & Ireland headline tour this year, a summer packed with festivals and we'll be hitting the stage at Wembley Stadium for the Summertime Ball… no big deal!"

Remember Monday ended their statement by telling fans: "We're so grateful for the platform, the media support and every single new fan who's joined us on this wild journey. Eurovision? Completed it. Let's go!"

Can't get enough of Remember Monday? Here's everything you need to know about the band...

Who are Remember Monday?

After weeks of speculation about who would represent the UK at Eurovision, radio presenter Scott Mills announced back in March that Remember Monday would be this year's entry.

"It ain't a Eurovision entry until I say it is," he said, confirming we'd be represented by the country-pop music trio. The band has three members - Lauren Byrne, Holly-Anne Hull and Charlotte Steele - and they've all been besties since meeting each other at sixth form. How sweet!?

"I am so ready to get behind the act that is representing us and I know you're going to adore them. They are genuinely brilliant and really lovely," Scott added of Remember Monday, who you might recognise from season eight of The Voice. During the 2019 series, the band was coached by Jennifer Hudson but eliminated during knockouts.

To date, the band has released two EPs and 12 singles (including hit tunes 'Laugh About It', 'Hysterical Women' and 'Prove Me Right') and they've also covered hits by Sabrina Carpenter and Shania Twain to name a few. As for festivals, Remember Monday has performed at the British Summer Time Festival in Hyde Park, and this year they're also scheduled to play at Big Feastival and Latitude - so take this as your sign to book tickets, if you haven't already!

Speaking to Scott about the name of the band, the trio revealed Remember Monday came from an 'inside joke' of having free periods at school that always fell on a Monday. In actuality, they just skipped lessons to sing together.

"That turned into us singing everyday of the week and not going to our classes," they told the radio DJ. "We did that for years and years and it became an in joke that it was always happening on a Monday, so that's where Remember Monday was born."

Are Remember Monday on Instagram?

They sure are! Keep up with all the goings-on of the band on their Instagram account, which already has over 130,000 followers.

What was Remember Monday's Eurovision song?

At the Eurovision Song Contest 2025, Remember Monday performed their track: 'What The Hell Just Happened?'

As the name suggests, the song follows the aftermath of a night out with friends - and the trio had plenty to say about it to Scott following the announcement they'd be competing back in March. "'What The Hell Just Happened?' is exactly how we’re feeling right now!" they said. "It's all very surreal."

"When you're a kid and people ask you what you want to be when you grow up, an absolute classic is 'I wanna be a pop star', so the fact that we're getting the chance to live that dream as three best friends is just wild," they added, pointing out that they'd be the first girlband to represent the UK since 1999. "We're going to bring loads of fun energy and hopefully do something that you won’t have seen before on the Eurovision stage."

'What The Hell Just Happened?' was co-written by Remember Monday along with Billen Ted (that's the duo of Tom Hollings and Sam Brennan), Thomas Stengaard (who wrote Denmark's 2013 Eurovision winning song) and Julie ‘Kill J’ Aagaard.

Where did the UK come in Eurovision last year?

Last year the UK was represented at Eurovision by Olly Alexander. Performing his track, 'Dizzy', he went up against 24 other acts during the show and scored 46 points for the UK – putting us in a finishing place of 18.

Before this year's entry was announced, Olly had some harsh advice for whoever takes over the role. "Maybe just get yourself a really good therapist," he said on a recent appearance of The Graham Norton Show.
