Is Cruel Intentions coming back for season 2?
The short answer? A second season of Cruel Intentions has not gotten the green light just yet. But that doesn't mean all hope is lost!
Season one premiered on 21st November, so Amazon still has time to choose to renew the show for season two. Chances are Prime Video will want to see how the first season resonates before making any big decisions about its future. Reviews of the show have not been exclusively positive, but as we all know, these kind of calls come down to how many viewers the show pulls in.
Where does that leave the show? What could a theoretical season 2 be about?
Season one ends on a bit of a cliffhanger with unresolved business, so a season two would give the show a platform to answer them... like WTF got added to Caroline's shared drive that has Lucien smirking so much?! (My money's on another one of his sex tapes but with, ya know, her mum. Gross, I know, but it tracks!) Also, what's going to happen now that Annie seems to have figured out it was Caroline who reported Professor Chadwick? Cece will be even more done with serving her sorority president than she already seems to be if she finds out. Clearly, there's a lot more story to tell in season two if Prime Video gives the go-ahead.

This is tricky to answer, but we can sure speculate. Season one of the show was filmed in the summer of 2023 and is now being released almost a year and a half later in November 2024, so I'm sorry to say that if we do get a second season, it could be quite some time—even a year and a half—before we see it on our screens.
