Another day, another reality TV series we're absolutely obsessed with. Now that Love Island is over for another year, and Married At First Sight UK is still months away, Love Is Blind UK is doing a lot of heavy lifting when it comes to our binge-watching schedule. But are the marriages actually legally binding?

To give you a quick recap, Love Is Blind follows participants who are hoping to form an emotional connection rather than a physical one, by sending them on a series of speed dates in 'blind pods', where they can hear their date - but not see them.

Over a number of days, they whittle down who they're talking to, before getting engaged in the pods, and finally getting to see each other in real life. After they set eyes on each other for the first time, they head on a honeymoon retreat, before moving in together for three weeks.

After four weeks, they have their wedding day, walking down the aisle to say 'I do', or 'I don't.' This season, Love Is Blind UK has produced six strong couples who make it out of the pods, from Catherine and Freddie to Steven and Sabrina. But are the weddings actually legally binding?

Netflix have confirmed to Cosmopolitan UK that the Love Is Blind UK weddings are legally binding.

So yes, they do actually get married on the show, if they say yes!

This comes as series producer Chris Coelen previously told Bustle in 2020 about the American version of the show, "If they choose to get married, yes, it's a legally binding marriage."

Asked whether contestants pay for their weddings themselves, Coelen explained, "Of course production supplies some of the basics but because these are their real weddings, it's up to them as to how to spend their money."
