It's been a big week on Love Island, as we saw the return of OG Adam Collard followed by Jacques O'Neill's decision to quit the villa. We also saw a shock dumping leave Coco Lodge and Josh Samuel Le Grove packing their bags, and Tasha Ghouri and Andrew Le Page made things officially official. And amidst all that, a recoupling too, during which Luca Bish told Gemma Owen he was bored of saying "elephant juice".
Thankfully, we weren't the only ones scratching our heads over the phrase, with plenty of Love Island viewers taking to Twitter to ask: What actually is 'elephant juice'?
"ELEPHANT JUICE? SALON?? PLEASE STOP THIS!" one Love Island fan tweeted, as someone else said, "What does elephant juice even mean I feel like I missed something there."
Another viewer simply put: "What is elephant juice???"
According to one clued-up viewer, it turns out that 'elephant juice' is a subtle way of telling someone you love them – without actually telling them. "It looks like you’re saying 'I love you'," the fan tweeted.
But it seems we might have heard the last of 'elephant juice' for a while, as later on Luca and Gemma dropped those three little words for real. "You know I've fallen for you," Luca told Gemma as they enjoyed a private moment on the terrace. "I've never been so sure in saying something," he went on, before finally dropping the L-bomb. "You're so cute," Gemma giggled in response before telling Luca she loved him too.
How! Cute!
