Love Island fans couldn't cope with Gemma Owen's reaction to Luca Bish telling her he loved her, after she responded "That's actually mad to hear that." Maybe it was the, er, shock talking?

In the same episode that Tasha Ghouri asked Andrew Le Page to be her boyfriend, and Davide Sanclimenti and Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu kissed and made up, Luca also told Gemma that he loved her.

"After yesterday, today has been the best day in the villa," the 23-year-old fishmonger said. "I wouldn't want it with anyone else. I can't help how I feel. And hopefully you feel the same. Nah, you know I'm falling for you. I brought you to where we had our first chat, it's gone a bit better since then."

He continued, "I've never been so sure in saying something because I haven't seen a future with someone like I have with you. I think I'm in love with you.. I am in love with you. I do love you, and that's it."

Gemma responded, "That f***ing like... That's mad to actually hear that" before adding, "I love you too."

Fans couldn't help but cringe at the moment, losing it over Gemma's initial reaction. "LMFAOOOOO GEMMA PLSSSS" one person wrote, while another put, "Looooooooooool wait Luca said he loves Gemma and she said 'That’s mad to hear that'"

Someone else added, "Gemma replying 'that’s mad to hear that' to Luca telling her he loves her has done me #LoveIsland
