Another Love Island couple bites the dust: just days after leaving the villa, Mary Bedford and Aaron Simpson have revealed they're just friends.

Despite coupling up in the main villa (after Mary arrived in Casa Amor and Aaron as a bombshell), the 24-year-old model revealed on Love Island: Aftersun that she thought the pair were better off as pals.

When asked about their romantic connection by Laura Whitmore, Mary replied, "We’ll see how it goes."

She continued, "I think we’re just gonna go home, when we’re back in the real world again and things are more normal. We’re going to see how it goes, but I have definitely made a best friend in here."

Speaking of his time in the villa, Aaron added, "I knew my head was firmly on Mary and it was a whirlwind experience."

When the pair were dumped by the public last week, Mary said she and Aaron were hoping to give things a go in her exit interview. "It’s still proper early days for us. Even though it’s only been 10 days it feels like we’ve been seeing each other for months," she revealed at the time.

"We said we’re definitely going to give it a go on the outside. Obviously everything changes when you get out so we said we’re just going to cross each bridge as it comes to it. We’re definitely going to see each other on the outside."

Maybe just as friends now, eh Mary?
