Jake Cornish and Liberty Poole have been centre stage of the last few Love Island episodes. Now, an ex-contestant has said a conversation they had last night [12 August] actually broke the rules.

Things started to go wrong for the pair after the movie night challenge, which saw a clip of Jake saying he 'didn't want to rip Liberty's clothes off' air. She then questioned Jake's intentions during a scene with Kaz Kamwi, when Jake didn't want Liberty to go and hug her.

Later in the episode, Liberty told Chloe Burrows something about the moment didn't sit right in her gut, before questioning whether Jake was faking certain things for the cameras. She said to him in bed, "I know you say sometimes, like, 'We are on a TV show', but at the same time, what makes it good is just you being yourself, do you know what I mean?"

She added, "Tonight, me wanting to run up and hug Kaz as soon as she came down the stairs was a natural reaction to me.."

Ex-Love Island contestant Sam Gowland then took to Twitter to reveal acknowledging you're on a reality TV show is "strictly not allowed", suggesting that Liberty broke the rules. He alleged that this was possibly a reaction from producers to Jake's behaviour.

The season three Islander put, "So a little TV knowledge for you here… when filming, you're strictly not allowed to talk about 'being on camera' or anything related to being on TV. So for Love Island to actually air Lib saying that Jake must have been playing up to the camera for some time.. Believe me. [sic]"
