Love Island fans were overwhelmed with emotions and reactions to the launch of the 2021 show, which kicked off on ITV2 tonight [28 June.] And while we've already met our Love Islanders (and stalked them on social media) there was one thing that fans couldn't stop saying about Hugo Hammond.

The 24-year-old from Hampshire said he signed up to Love Island because, "I’ve been single for a while now. With the current climate, it’s been really hard to get back into dating. I saw it as an opportunity to have an amazing fun summer and put myself back out there."

He also revealed he was a PE Teacher (but he's, er, never asked a woman to call him Mr Hammond in the bedroom), and viewers couldn't help but comment on how awkward it would be if he was your teacher right now.

"Imagine seeing your teacher flirting on national television nah#LoveIsland," one person wrote, while another added, "Hugo’s students realising their teacher is on love island… #LoveIsland"

A third said, "I’m just thinking about the students that know Hugo… I could never imagine my teacher on Love island #LoveIsland"

Others have been comparing him to Dr. Alex George from Love Island 2018. Tweets included, "Hugo is giving Dr Alex George energy #LoveIsland" and "Hugo is this year’s Alex George #LoveIsland."

Someone else said, "Hugo. LAWD. He's the Dr alex George of this season. #LoveIsland"

Oh, Hugo.
