Last night's Love Island took an ~interesting~ turn after the Islanders played an explosive game of 'Knowing Me, Knowing You,' in which the couples had to guess various facts about their partner's sexual histories and preferences.
Aaron Francis, who is currently coupled up with Sharon Gaffka, kicked off the controversy during a round where Islanders had to guess their partners' biggest turn-offs. I mean, this was never going to end well.
Sharon correctly guessed that her partner Aaron's biggest turn-off was, erm, hairy arms. Talking about Aaron's turn-offs, Sharon said, "He's got a pretty big list to be fair but the last thing I remember is hairy arms."
Aaron confirmed that hairy arms were his biggest turn-off but didn't elaborate on exactly why that is. We can only assume this is due to there being no rational justification for disliking hairy arms? After all, the vast majority of people have hair on their arms and that's PERFECTLY FINE!
Fans were quick to pick up Aaron's preference, pointing out that many people with dark hair have experienced bullying over it.
Journalist Diyora Shadijanova (@thediyora), tweeted, "ARE WE GOING TO IGNORE AARON'S COMMENT ABOUT HAIRY ARMS??? because having to wax your arms at the age of 13 when everyone bullied you for them WAS actually a traumatic teenage experience."
Everyone's clicking on...
Other fans picked up on the fact that Aaron wasn't challenged about his preference, whereas Hugo Hammond was roundly slated for his comments about being turned off by "fakeness."
Here's how the rest of Twitter responded to the incident...
So I think we can all conclude that arm hair is just fine, right?
Love Island continues tomorrow at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub. Episodes are available the following morning on BritBox.
