Genetics is a funny thing. Sometimes, kids pop out looking exactly like their mum, or their dad, or some alarming yet charming Photoshop of the two. It's all "you've got your father's eyes" until someone inherits the family chin and suddenly everyone is politely mute. But what happens when it goes the other way – when the parent slowly, suspiciously starts morphing into the child? Less like mother like daughter, more like daughter like... mother?

This is where we are with Victoria Beckham and her 14-year-old daughter, Harper Beckham. Earlier this week, the pop icon turned fashion and beauty mogul debuted a brand new extra, extra long buttercream blonde hairstyle, complete with a blended brunette shadow root. And it's a style making us question whether she and Harper have been quietly sharing a salon chair in some kind of Beckham family rota system.

One minute you're a Spice Girl, the next you're your own teenage daughter's visual twin.

Twinning aside, this buttercream blonde shade deserves its own seasonal moment for it's a perfect soft focus hue that feels so spring-like – warm, creamy and sunlit without veering into full-blown peroxide panic. Not to mention the styling: loose waves with just enough texture to feel polished, but not so much that it tips into full red-carpet updo territory. An effortless glam, if you will.

Forget the apple doesn't fall far from the tree because sometimes, the tree becomes the apple. Blame the power of trending hair colours, blame family resemblance, but either way, there's no denying the gorgeousness of the entire look (and bloodline).
