Circa six months ago, I went from having five-year old black box dyed hair (first red flag) to bleach blonde lengths in a matter of weeks (second red flag). And as you can probably guess, this took a toll on my short fine strands making for issues including breakage and dry ends, to name a few. Alas, I'm living out my Barbie fantasy and for what it's worth, I do have more fun...
Basically, what I'm getting at is that when Selfridges shared they would be opening a new IRL space dedicated to not only contemporary jewellery but hair accessories and haircare, too, I (read: my hair) was very thankful.
From styling sessions to personalisation and piercing services, as well as, ofc, the best-curated products from independent and established brands, your hair need never be short of an oil or two!
But it's not just oils on offer; the first of its kind 3500 square foot space (aka, big!) has something for all hair types and textures, across haircare products, colour, services, tools and accessories, increasing the scope of their existing offer by 180 per cent. What did I say? Big!
But don't just take my word for it, see a select few snaps that provide evidence below:
Selfridges' unique mix of counter concepts and experimental pop-up newness is at your very disposal, ready to discover now [open from 15 May, 2023].
Naturally intrigued, I took it upon myself to scope out said area and stock up on some new and favourite haircare heroes.
Now, out of the many items scouted and purchased, here are some of my faves...
While my dry ends drank up all there was to offer on first impressions, having used the following for two (ish) weeks, I can say that the K18 molecular repair hair oil is a winner.
Not only does it smell of freshly washed bedsheets but the formula provides shine, frizz control and heat protection. Not to mention its ability to magically rebuild split ends – K18 peptides, I'm looking at you.
Though, broken bonds not your thing? Look no further than the Champo leave in perfecting hair cream. This vegan, cruelty-free, silicone-free wonder can be used on all hair types and harnesses the best of jojoba extracts and haritaki fruit for instant taming, gloss and hold. Make like me and add a few pumps into clean, towel-dried hair for weightless nourishment. My locks say scream liquid hair.
Jennifer Lopez who?!
But that's not all; I took payday joy to a whole new level, shopping many more products, which you, too, can get your hands on below. Trust me, it's so worth it and an investment in self care! (She keeps telling herself.)
