Following in the footsteps of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's six children, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' daughter, Suri, has ditched her father's surname and adopted one paying tribute to her mother instead.

It's reported that Suri, who is 20, hasn't spoken to her father in several years – and is very close to her mum.

In honour of Katie, Suri has now adopted the surname 'Noelle', which is Katie's middle name. The change was first noticed back in 2024, when Suri graduated from high school and was listed as 'Suri Noelle' in the ceremony brochure.

Now, it's been confirmed (by Page Six) that the change is legal, as well as social, as this is the name Suri has also registered to vote with.

Tom and Katie were first spotted together in 2005, on a trip to Rome, and shortly after he enthusiastically jumped up and down on a sofa during an Oprah Winfrey chat show interview, proclaiming his love for her.

They got married (his third, her first) and welcomed Suri in 2006, and split six years later in 2012. It's been reported that Tom's involvement with the controversial religion of Scientology was part of Katie's motivation for initiating their divorce.

Everyone's clicking on...

When responding to questioning from ABC in 2012, Tom said, "Did she say that [she wants to protect Suri from Scientology]? That was one of the assertions, yes."

He added, "[Headlines stated] 'He chose Scientology over Suri for good.' 'Has he chosen Scientology over Suri for good?' 'Abandoned by Daddy.' I mean come on, that is absolutely disgusting.

"I tolerate a tremendous amount and I'm very privileged to be able to have the life that I have, and I believe that. But there is a line that I draw for myself and – and that's it. And I asked for an apology. I asked for a retraction. [The publisher] denied it."
