Surprise! Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are moving back to the United Kingdom – like, in a mere matter of weeks. In fact, their kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, are reportedly starting school in England this coming September.
And if you’re wondering how Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, are feeling about their estranged brother/brother-in-law moving back to the country, it is reported that William in particular was fully “blindsided.” Apparently, the royals are also slightly miffed that their move was announced in the U.S. media (People broke the story) instead of by them.
“That tells you everything,” a source said to Rob Shutter. “If this were really about rebuilding trust with the royal family, the palace would have been given the respect of making the announcement. Instead, Harry and Meghan made the announcement themselves in America.”
Another source added, “They are still loose cannons. Nobody knows what they are going to do next, and nobody at the Palace wants to find out through the American media.”
Oh, and yet another is attempting to claim (without any proof) that the couple is moving back to England due to financial reasons, saying, “Harry knows the family fortune is in Britain. He also knows his father is the person who can make life much easier for him. They are coming back because they need Britain—and they need Charles.”
The royals haven’t released a statement, but People reports that King Charles “welcomes the opportunity to see more of the Sussex family in a private and personal capacity.”
Everyone's clicking on...
As a reminder: Harry, Meghan, and their kids briefly reunited with him over the summer (their first family gathering in years), and everyone appears to be on good terms.
Other than, you know, Prince William and Prince Harry, ahem.
