Wimbledon has always been a spectator sport in more ways than one. Sure, there are forehands and fifth sets and Andy Murray swinging a racket about (I know all about tennis... I swear), but there's always the annual beauty Olympics quietly unfolding in the stands. Hair that survives heatwaves; makeup that survives Pimm's; manicures that survive polite applause.

Over the last couple of days, one mani has all but taken over the celebrity enclosure: vanilla cream nails. Hannah Waddingham, Lily James and Priyanka Chopra, to name a few, have all leaned into the creamy neutral, making a strong case for the biggest beauty trend of summer 2026. It's clean, minimalistic and glossy, in equal parts.

Though, despite what you may think, neutral need not mean boring. I'm talking rosy undertones instead of beige, coconut whites if you want something brighter, or even throw in a shimmer, chrome finish, cat-eye effect or French tip to make it your own. Think of it as less about following a specific formula and more about finding your own version of it.

For those keen to make like the celebrities, summer 2026 is shaping up to be the season of pared-back nails. So, see our gallery of inspiration below to get ahead...

Though personally (and respectfully), I will be opting out. Give me a full beat and Claudia Winkleman's neon coral nails in 30-degree weather any day of the week... Remember: Beauty has no rules, only preferences!
