So very zesty and juicy!

What's better than a refreshing, uplifting spritz when outside is hotter than a pre-heated oven? For me it's a zesty, uplifting orange-infused scent. While most of the time I prefer to smell like sandalwood and creamy, warm scents but when it's this hot, often a skin scent feels a bit misplaced. Sweaty, hot skin in +30 degree Celsius and musks are a bit much IMO. Instead, I reach for a citrus scent, but particularly orange ones. Lemons, limes, grapefruits and bergamots have a more bitter edge on my skin vs orange notes (think also mandarins, clementines, tangerines) which smell fresh but also have a feminine sweetness that always induces compliments.

So, below I'm not gatekeeping. These are the orange-infused perfumes I always rotate in the summer that have gotten be the most compliments and the most affordable one, just goes to show that you don't have to splash hundred on scents to have people chasing you to find out what you're wearing...

The hint is really in the name here this scent is super fresh but has a lovely complexity from a perfume under £10. The orange-y notes hit first, but then you get the floral notes of jasmine, rose and tuberose. As it dries down after a bit of time you really get a warm creamy hit of vanilla and tonka bean.

Glowing customer review: "Lovely smell and lasts all day long, I am always complimented."

Kayali Marrakesh In A Bottle Orange Blossom

If you like the idea of orangey perfumes, but want something that's also date night/dinner appropriate, look no further. This scent has a fresh burst of orange blossom and bergamot entwined with Turkish rose, pink pepper, neroli and cedar wood. This creates a delicious spicy warmth that I cannot get enough of.

Glowing customer review: "Marrakesh in a Bottle Orange Blossom fragrance captures the feeling of hot summer nights perfectly. Lasted well on my skin and the 10ml is the perfect size for travelling. Kayali fragrances never disappoint and I am looking forward to trying the others in the Vacay range."

Maison Margiela REPLICA Never Ending Summer Eau de Toilette 30ml

Someone described this as a Aperol Spritz scent and I couldn't agree more. It has to orange, bitter, fresh zest that is pure summer as it uses orange peel in the notes rather than the fruit itself (sweeter) or orange blossom (more floral).

Glowing customer review: "It is heavy on the orange so if you like that, you will really like this scent! It’s a lovely citrus vibe, nice and fresh."

The scent was inspired by the bitter orange tree and it really shows as the scent unfolds. It encompasses all of the tree, from the wood and bark to the fruits to the green, luscious leaves.

Glowing customer review: "We are currently experiencing a heatwave here in the uk and this is one of the only perfumes I can stand to wear without feeling nauseous by the end of the day. This to my nose is fresh floral, it’s that similar white floral as Jasmine but lighter and less polarising."

MATIERE PREMIERE Neroli Oranger Eau de Parfum 100ml

This a pretty gender-neutral scent as it has no sweetness and the floral elements are actually pretty deep and musky. The neroli does most of the heavy lifting here, citrus-wise with orange blossom back in it up. So if you prefer a sharper citrus scent, this is for you.

Glowing customer review: "A summer in Italy is exactly what this smells like. sophisticated, summery and fun. when i first smelled this in the store i knew i had to have this and I'm glad I did. This lasts hours on my skin and the dry down is a gorgeous combination of the ylang ylang and musk. perfect for summer."

Escentric Molecules Molecule 01 + Mandarin Eau de Toilette

If you're keen to try an orangey scent but equally are obsessed with woody perfumes, meet your match! This pairs the cult classic Molecule 01 (one of my favourite perfumes) with a super vivid mandarin note that smells bright, zesty and juicy. As it dries it becomes an intriguing woody musk.

Glowing customer review: "A realistic mandarin orange, if not even the best out there, of course as a fresh scent it has a moderate sillage and longevity.

Zara Fleur D'Oranger EDP 100mL

Of course Zara have an orange scent that is hella chic and under £40 for a long-lasting EDP. Its a true floral but thanks to the orange blossom and neroli (perfumers fave citrus tag-team) it has that zest that's elegant rather than sweet or cloying.

Glowing customer review: "Honestly i really like this one, is bright and elegant, nothing super original but is really good for everyday use or simply a day fragrance."
