Jessica Chastain's latest Instagram debut falls firmly into the latter camp, meaning my metaphorical mausoleum of documents is expanding. Take note, folks.
Over the weekend, the actor unveiled her shortest bob yet, pairing a glossy, 1920s-inspired cut with the caption, "I don’t know about you… …but I’m feeling 1922." The post landed over Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding weekend, and seeing as Jessica is besties with the pop icon, it's fair to assume that this is the glamorous look she wore to the celebrations.
Gone are the tumbling Rapunzel lengths, and in their place comes a sculpted copper bob that skims the jaw. Complete with a soft kink and flick, making for a bell shape (hence the name), the style adds just enough volume, texture and Old Hollywood drama that this royal wedding deserves.

Marital celebrations aside, this haircut is also thee ultimate summer refresh. A bob is wonderfully low-maintenance compared to long locks – and when temperatures climb, having layers of hair draping over your shoulders and down the back is an overstated luxury. Chic? Sure. Practical? Not so much.

Now, it's worth noting that this isn't Jessica's first love affair with a bob; she first dipped her toe into short hair territory back in April, before seemingly lengthening things in May with a blonde lob while filming Minivan.
Though, as it turns out, the copper bob has returned with jaw-skimming vengeance. Now, it's shorter, chicer and altogether perfect for summer 2026. Now, off you pop, Tracey; your bob appointment and therefore, my praise and approval, awaits!
