To All the Boys I've Loved Before (2018)
Rom-coms are always the perfect film to kick back and relax with, pack of twizzlers and sparkling water in tow. And this 2018 Netflix hit is the just the right rom-com for a chill night indoors. Starring the gorgeous Lana Condor and the man-of-my-dreams Noah Centineo, it follows a teenage girl named Lara Jean whose love letters are accidentally sent to their receivers. And well, chaos ensues.
The Adam Project (2022)
Anything Ryan Reynolds stars in is an immediate watch for me, which is why I’ve seen this film like a gazillion times, but it’s still just as good as when I first watched it. My sci-fi geeks will love this one, since it’s a time-traveling-turned-action-adventure story.

Always Be My Maybe (2019)
Another rom-com for the win. Ali Wong stars front and center in this story about two best friends who fall out of contact but eventually reunite a decade or so later. With guest appearances from a snarky and conceited Keanu Reeves and willfully oblivious Daniel Day Kim, this feel-good story is more than just a romantic tale of two childhood lovers, but a story about what-ifs and second chances.
Murder Mystery 2 (2023)
Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler take another spin on the whodunnit story with Murder Mystery 2. Only this time, the pair have landed themselves in a different sort of murder-y situation where the victim is kidnapped. Won’t reveal too much because *spoilers*. But any fans of the detective genre (or the amazing Jennifer), will love this comedy.

Dumplin‘ (2018)
Speaking of Jen, she also stars in this romantic comedy. On the surface level, the film is about a teenager named Willowdean, her budding relationship with co-worker Bo, and her journey into pageantry. But really, it’s a coming of age story not for Willowdean, but for her mother, a former beauty queen whose negative feelings toward Willowdean’s body halts her from seeing the beauty within her own daughter and more importantly, herself.
Tick, Tick... Boom! (2021)
You know a film is good when its director is Lin-Manuel Miranda and the main star is Academy-Award nominee Andrew Garfield. Between these two and the amazing co-stars (Vanessa Hudgens and Alexandra Shipp), this semi-autobiographical story of playwright Jonathan Larson takes inspiration from the stage play of the same name and establishes itself as its own work of art.

The Kissing Booth (2017)
It was this film that started Netflix's journey into rom-com territory. Based on the Wattpad novel turned published work, this teenage drama is the classic best friend/older brother love story. Only we have pre-Euphoria Jacob Elordi as the bad boy older brother and Joey King as the best friend who “accidentally” falls in love.
The Half of It(2020)
Another rom-com, what a surprise! But, I will say this 2020 film is a lot different from Netflix’s other dramas. Our main lead Ellie Chu helps a school jock woo his crush, but accidentally falls in love with her (the crush) instead.

The Gray Man (2022)
Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, and Ana de Armas star in this action thriller about a CIA agent who is on the run from an ex-CIA agent who is dead set on murdering him. It’s one of the few films where we see Chris Evans' bad side. Playing a goody-two-shoes superhero for over a decade kinda put him in a lil box, so it’s definitely a new look for him, one I think you’ll enjoy.
Thunder Force (2021)
Comedy queens Melissa McCarthy and Octavia Spencer play childhood best friends turned superhero duo who are on an adventure of fighting crime. It’s the plot of a CW show, but with better humor and acting. Plus, who doesn’t love my good sis Octavia?
