Booking a trip to a far-flung travel destination doesn't necessarily mean spending a fortune - Skyscanner has released a list of the cheapest long-haul flights, and the destinations are seriously surprising.
Analysing their data to find the best flight cost per mile, the booking company found that a flight from London to exotic Bali actually works out the cheapest of all long-haul destinations. The average flight price is £828, and the distance in miles 7765 - meaning the trip costs £o.1066 per mile.
Also making the list was London - Cebu, at £0.1132 per mile, Manchester - Bali at £0.1144 and London - Oakland at £0.1149.
And while a trip to New Zealand might be costly, with a flight from London - Auckland racking up at £1,315, it turns out that it's actually the fifth best value for money in terms of cost per mile
Lisa Tyndall, Senior Growth Manager at Skyscanner, said: "It was great to see popular destinations such as Bali, Auckland and Manila appearing."
Fancy taking a trip for yourself? Right now, Skyscanner has flights from London to Bali for £339, and Manchester to Manila from £459. You'll want to be quick though, since these prices are constantly changing.
If you're waiting on payday (aren't we all), Lisa recommends "setting price alerts, considering departing from a different airport nearby or just changing their departure day slightly to help save money.” That way, you'll never miss out on a deal.
