Whether it's a date night with your partner or a bottomless brunch with your pals, everyone knows you can't go wrong with jeans and a nice top. If you're tired of your usual go-to, though, we've just discovered the perfect way to elevate that look this spring/summer. Introducing: cape tops.
Cape tops were all over the SS26 runways this year, with the likes of Dior, Valentino, Balenciaga, Alaïa, Celine, and more showing the silhouette in the form of dresses, tops, and beyond. Stella McCartney then brought the look to the high street via the brand's H&M collab, and we're ever so jealous of anyone who managed to bag the brand's draped (and caped!) satin top before it sold out.
Thankfully, plenty of other brands have been inspired to cape it up since then. So, if you missed out on the Stella McCartney x H&M top (like we did), then here are a few other options for your next jeans and a nice top moment.
First up, Next's Mesh Asymmetric Cape Top not only nails the look, but also comes in one of spring/summer's biggest colour trends: sage green. Designed to elevate your daytime and evening wardrobes, the top's asymmetric design adds a unique twist to the traditional cape silhouette, while the side ruching is incredibly flattering. Best of all? This cape top is crafted from a delicate (and suggestively sexy) mesh fabric that will also help you stay cool during the warmer nights to come.
