So when Sabrina Carpenter posted pics on Instagram from her 25th birthday celebrations that took place over the weekend [Saturday 11 May], it's no surprise the comments section was full of fans instantly drawing comparisons between her yellow mini dress and the aforementioned yellow gown.
Well, Sabrina's stylist, Jared Ellner, has officially confirmed the singer's birthday look was indeed inspired by Andie Anderson. Even down to the diamond necklace with yellow diamond pendant the birthday girl accessorised her outfit with.
Rather than an identical copy, Sabrina's butter yellow satin mini dress emulated Kate Hudson’s with the hue, V neckline, embellished belt and open back with crossover straps. One huge difference was the length, with Sabrina opting for a mini hem length that featured a leg slit.
Her dress was sourced via secondhand shopping app, Depop from Jules who sells under the username @jbeescloset. She took to TikTok to share more details on the dress, revealing it was an authentic Y2K vintage Cachet design she bought from a New York thrift store for $50 before tailoring it.
This story only gets better, with Sabrina's outfit catching the attention of Kate Hudson who took to the comments section to write "That’s that Andie Anderson Espresso 💛💛💛💛😘". Yep, this is everything.
Sabrina's dress may be a one-off, but luckily the high street has come through with some of its own How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days-inspired dresses. Right this way for yellow satin styles in maxi, mini and everything in between lengths, so you can channel Kate and Sabrina with ease.
