Fast forward a few months ago and you couldn't move for Y2K-inspired outfits everywhere you looked. From Rita Ora's crystal-embellished hip cut-out jeans, Anitta's shredded mini skirt or Bella Hadid's Von Dutch bowling bag. Talk about a throwback...

But the trend was somewhat overshadowed at the start of 2024. With fashion month and awards szn in full force, our fave celebs were almost exclusively opting for more glamorous attire than the casual ease that is a central component of the '00s style. Similarly, the mob wife aesthetic was a breakout TikTok microtrend that dominated all sartorial choices, banishing Y2K to the back of our collective social consciousness.

Until now, that is. And the reminder that noughties nostalgia is very much alive and kicking comes courtesy of Ice Spice, AKA the unofficial poster girl for the trend, who's latest Instagram post sees her posing in a pink tracksuit jacket and matching joggers.

Standing on a balcony, Ice models the baby pink hooded zip-up, pairing the cropped jacket with coordinating pink flares that are emblazoned with "I am Gia" across the bum. The whole look is *super* reminiscent of the velour Juicy tracksuits that spelled out the brand in crystal writing, popularised in the '00s by the likes of Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears.

The artist's outfit in question may not be Juicy, but it is from Australian brand I.Am.Gia whose mile-long celeb fan list that includes the likes of Bella Hadid, Kylie Jenner, Kaia Gerber, Selena Gomez, Emily Ratajkowski, Dua Lipa, Lourdes Leon and Camila Cabello (we told you it was long!) is only rivalled by its cult social media status.

For proof of Ice Spice's unconfirmed status as Y2K Queen, you need only scroll down her Insta feed. As well as naming her new album after the trend, she also models an appropriately themed ensemble. Namely, a printed baby tee and denim cargo mini skirt.

Yep, there's no question, Y2K is here to stay.
