Awards season has officially begun, and it's providing all the January fashion escapism we could possibly wish for. It all kicked off courtesy of the star-studded Golden Globes that were held in Beverly Hills over the weekend, and saw the likes of Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, JLo and Dua Lipa hit the red carpet in a variety of gorgeous glitzy gowns – not to mention the iconic Gillian Anderson who almost broke the internet when she stepped out in a dress covered in vulvas. Yes, really!
But there ain't no rest for the Hollywood A-Listers – poor things! – as just two days later they assembled once more in honour of the 14th annual Governors Awards in Los Angeles, and ofc, they went BIG with their looks for the event. Florence Pugh's outfit was by far one of our faves, and it ticked off two big 2024 fashion trends to boot...
The actor looked stunning as ever in a pale pink gown by Rodarte, featuring all-over sparkly embellishment, a floral corsage (bang on trend!), halter-neck detail and one Y2K trend we thought (read: hoped) we'd seen the back of... The peplum. It's one of the most glorious looks we've ever seen on Florence, tbh – and that's no mean feat given all her epic Valentino ensembles over the years, #freethenip see-through dress included.
But this Rodarte design is, quite simply, new levels of fab – and it suits Florence soooo much. The only fitting accessories, then, could be some major jewels courtesy of Tiffany & Co., and Flo went all in with diamond cluster earrings, an archival diamond cuff, an an *incredible* Jean Schlumberger flower ring with one of the biggest pink diamonds we've ever seen.
All this, and we're only two days into awards season! Looks like the next few months are going to be MAJOR...!
