In news we really could never have predicted – especially at this particularly chilly time of year! – the "no trousers" trend is picking up pace, and fast becoming one of the biggest style obsessions of the season. Spearheaded by Miu Miu and the likes of Kendall Jenner, Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber, stepping out without any bottoms on is the latest iteration of the "naked dressing" trend, and it's being embraced by practically every fashion-forward celeb out there.
In the past few weeks alone, we've seen everyone from Anne Hathaway and Cindy Crawford to Taylor Swift adopt the no trousers look – and now, it seems Dua Lipa can't get enough of it either. Having already tried the trend on for size a few weeks ago to celebrate the release of her new hit single "Houdini", wearing a pair of green pants over tights with nothing else, Dua is at it again. This time, swapping her girly flower-embellished knickers for a pair of men's tightie whities...
Yep, while on holiday in Tokyo, Dua stepped out in a truly epic menswear-inspired outfit consisting of white cotton boxer shorts, a blue pinstripe shirt, burgundy leather tie, sheer tights, knee-high boots and an oversized blazer to finish it off. It's giving business at the top, party at the bottom – and perfect for a tongue-in-cheek office Christmas party look, we think (depending on how strict your workplace is, obvs).
Ofc, she documented the whole outfit on her Instagram, posting pics of herself wearing the trouser-less look while walking across the famous Shibuya Crossing as well as to pose in front of the lit-up Tokyo Tower. It's a far cry from the traditional kimono she wore for a tea ceremony earlier on her trip, for sure – but it's precisely the unexpectedness of this Dua 'fit that makes us love it all the more.
