We've all been there. Getting ready to go and meet the girls but having no clue what to wear, despite the contents of your wardrobe now covering your bed and revealing every single item of clothing you own. A quick text to the group chat, "what are you wearing?" to gauge the vibe and mirror selfies of various 'fits are sent in response. Is it any wonder then, that you all arrive wearing almost identical outfits?
So, when we saw photos of Sophie Turner and Dakota Johnson on a girls night out together in New York City last night we knew exactly what their text convo must have looked like. Both repping all black ensembles consisting of winter coats and leather boots, accessorised with a top handle bag providing a pop of colour – pink for Sophie, yellow for Dakota – their looks coordinated perfectly with each other while still maintaining key differences.
Emerging out of a shared car, Dakota appeared first wearing a black satin midi skirt with a *very* high slit up the front centre seam that perfectly showed off the black slouchy knee-high heeled boots she wore on her feet. A black round-neck top layered under a black wool winter coat completed her ensemble, with a gold silk floral-embroidered pouch bag clutched in her left hand providing a point of interest to the otherwise minimal look.
Sophie, meanwhile, opted for black straight-leg jeans with a scattered sparkle to the fabric. She added a pale green ribbed knit jumper with a cut-out at the neck, with an ankle-length black maxi coat worn over the top. Her colour-pop accessory came in the form of a pink quilted Louis Vuitton handbag. As for her jewellery, a number of gold rings could be seen on Sophie's hands, and she also had on a large gold pendant necklace hanging from a black cord strap.
Both outfits nailed the brief of a low-key girls night out in November, so don't be surprised when we copy both these looks in the next few weeks.
