Barbiecore has reached a fever pitch as the stars of Greta Gerwig's hotly anticipated new film make their way around the world on the Barbie press tour. The likes of Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, Issa Rae and Will Ferrell have all hit the so-called "pink carpet" in spots as far flung as Mexico City, Seoul and Sydney in the past few weeks, and brought out some seriously *epic* looks for the occasion.
Naturally, the iconic doll's favourite hot pink colour has been the dress code of choice for most, while Margot Robbie has gone full vintage Barbie in a variety of human-scale recreations of the doll's most memorable 'fits.
Dua Lipa, meanwhile, almost broke the internet when she attended the Los Angeles premiere earlier this week in a fully see-through diamanté-encrusted mesh gown that was custom-made by Bottega Veneta for the occasion – and that the singer paired with nothing but a little white thong underneath. Talk about naked dressing!
For the film's London premiere, however, Dua went even more plastic fantastic with her outfit – and it's safe to say we are fully obsessed.
Just months after collaborating with Versace on her very own collection, Dua has only gone and served us yet another epic fashion moment courtesy of the storied Italian design house. Hitting the pink carpet of Leicester Square this evening, Dua was totally resplendent in a *stunning* chainmail midi dress from Versace's Pre-Fall 2023 collection. And can we just say: WOW.
With its gold chain straps, multi-coloured – but mostly pink, obvs – floral design, deep v-neck and pretty cut-outs on the chest, this really is one of the most fabulous dresses we've ever seen. And because it's Dua, she couldn't help but complete the look with some seriously maximalist accessories, including a thick choker necklace featuring Versace's signature gold coins and butterflies, a matching bracelet, pretty butterfly rings and a pair of très chic baby blue strappy stilettos.
