Even the most dedicated fashion disciples out there will admit that they can't get on board with everyyyyy trend... The Nineties-inspired ultra-low-rise jeans and mini-skirts that are absolutely everywhere, for example? Enough to strike fear into many a heart – and the idea of rocking a visible thong even more so. The celeb-fave naked dressing, visible lingerie and no-trousers trends, meanwhile, are most fashionistas' idea of a living nightmare.
That being said, there are also trends that we've initially resisted, but that all of a sudden sneak back up on us in the most unexpected way possible... Case in point: jorts. The once-reviled longline denim cut-offs – most frequently spotted on uncool dads, skaters and American road-trippers – have quickly become one of the hottest items of the summer. And leading the charge is none other than cool-girl style icon Hailey Bieber.
Hails has rocked the trend *countless* times this season already, styling her jorts with everything from Y2K-inspired bandeau tops to preppy socks 'n sandals. But it's her latest 'fit that's got us *really* understanding just how versatile this item can be:
Sharing a pic of her 'fit of the day on Instagram Stories, Hailey provided a masterclass in styling jorts for the summer season. First up, she seems to have secured the *perfect* pair (we've found some similar styles below, BTW), featuring a cool distressed denim wash, low waist, baggy design and cut juuuuust above the knee with a frayed finish. Chic. Aaaaand she's styled them with a teeny tiny white cropped tank top, adidas Sambas, a cute straw beach bag and baseball cap with a lil red string bikini underneath.
It's the perfect beach-to-bar lewk, TBH – and we're planning on copying it, stat. Who said fashion and practicality couldn't go hand in hand? Jorts-filled summer, here we come.
