To date, Billie Eilish's red carpet style has been characterised by relaxed co-ord sets, bold prints and the odd flash of colour (neon green is a notable fave) - an aesthetic we love and have come to associate with the star who walks to the beat of her own drum. So when Billie stepped out at the 2021 VMAs wearing a look that feels like a departure from her go-to 'fit, we almost had to do a double-take.

Billie, who is notably nominated for a plethora of awards at this year's VMAs, including Best Pop Song, Best Latin Song, Best Direction, Best Cinematography and Video for Good, arrived at the show wearing a minimalist black midi and we are so here for it.

When you zoom in on the 'fit, beneath the cosy long-sleeved jumper, you can see that Billie's skirt features subtle floral detailing towards the hem. The artist then finishes the look with a pair of matching leg warmers and platform sneakers.

While this specific red carpet outfit combo is a new one for Billie, there's no denyin' that she is still keeping her cool signature approach to fashion.

From opting for trainers over heels, to choosing a comfortable jumper that, let's be honest, we all kind of feel like wearing right now, Billie continues to be one of our red carpet faves:

Of course, aside from the outfit, this latest red carpet appearance also gives us another opportunity to admire the singer's incredible blonde shaggy bob:

Yep, we still love it (and perhaps even more now?). Best of luck to Billie with her (many) incred nominations!
