When we first heard that Lady Gaga would be singing the national anthem at Joe Biden's inauguration, we already knew it was going to be a 'moment'. What we didn't necessarily anticipate - although perhaps, in hindsight, we should have - was a major fashion moment. But as it turns out we were very pleasantly surprised.
Gaga wow'd crowds, and the internet, when she stepped out wearing a gloriously extra custom Schiaparelli Haute Couture dress for the occasion. The look itself consists of a long-sleeve, navy bodice which, at the waist, transforms into THE PUFFIEST red skirt. Talk about patriotic, huh?

This. Is. Everything.
On closer inspection, you can also see there's a sizeable brooch attached to the front of the 'fit: a gold dove, which is an undeniably symbolic choice:
Beauty-wise, Gaga went for a red lip (to match the dress, obvs) and an ornate updo, turning her hair into its very own style alice band.
Everyone's clicking on...
Naturally, Twitter couldn't contain its excitement over the 'fit, with many comparing Gaga's dress to a moment from Hunger Games (lol) - here are the best Twitter reactions:
"our 46th president, lady gaga"
"Lady Gaga walking into Panem with her Mockingjay Pin"
"lady gaga serving some hunger games symbolism is exactly what i needed today"
"congrats to lady Gaga’s dress on its success in the hunger games"
"Lady gaga looking like actual royalty yea that’s my girl"
"I'm loving the dove, symbol of peace that Lady Gaga wore to sing at the inauguration"
"lady gaga looking so radiant. i love her.
"Lady Gaga is FLAWLESS."
Amen to that!
