• Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton recreate Paris' iconic 21st birthday party dress
  • The duo shared behind the scenes Instagram shots for the filming of the heiress' new song 'Best Friend's Ass'

Anyone who lived through the early 2000s remembers Paris Hilton's 21st birthday party dress like it was just yesterday. For the occasion, The Simple Life star opted for a silver chainmail halter-neck style with a plunging cowl neck and asymmetrical hem. Paris then accessorised the outfit with an equally-bedazzled choker, sparkly butterfly clips and a pink Tinker Bell handbag. Like we said, it was iconic.

Over the years Paris’ party dress has become so famous that supermodel Kendall Jenner went and copied the look for her own 21st birthday. Heck, even her sister Nicky Hilton Rothschild also channeled the outfit for Halloween last year.

Now, 17 years after her famous party, Paris is filming the music video for her new song 'Best Friend's Ass'. For the clip, the heiress joined forces with her former assistant (and current 'bff'), Kim Kardashian. What did they wear for the production? 2019 versions of said dress, because of course.

The duo have gradually been sharing behind-the-scenes footage from their project on Instagram.

“So fun shooting this video with @parishilton for her new song #BestFriendsAss” wrote Kim.

“So much on set of my #BestFriendsAss music video with my gorgeous girl @KimKardashian,” added Paris.

The posts imply that Kim (and her bum) are the subject of Paris’ new tune. It's also implied that Paris considers Kim to be her ‘best friend’, which is kind of cute.

In case you missed it, Paris and Kim appear to have been hanging out a lot more over the last few months, with Paris scoring invites to numerous Kardashian-Jenner family events, including Christmas and New Year’s Eve in Aspen.
