It's been a busy weekend for Lil Nas X who scooped the prize for Video of the Year at Sunday's VMAs while making a statement in a half-suit half-gown outfit and wet-look mullet. And, as if that wasn't iconic enough, just a day later at the Met Gala he wowed us all again with not one, but three looks.

Yep, Lil Nas X channeled his inner Lady Gaga (who was noticeably missing from the event) as he undressed layer by layer on the steps of the Met. Dressed head-to-toe in gold Versace, the "Montero" singer unravelled a velvet cape to reveal a v glam suit of armour underneath, followed by a sparkly catsuit.

Speaking to reporters on the red carpet [via The Guardian], Lil Nas X said his outfit paid homage to "coming out of his shell" over the past year.

Naturally, fans couldn't help but notice the similarity to Lady Gaga's iconic pink moment at the 2019 Met, and they took to Twitter to share their appreciation for it. "Lil Nas X does a Gaga and strips down to reveal three outfits at the #MetGala. Maybe that's now an American thing," said fashion critic Vanessa Friedman, while a fan tweeted "Lil Nas X did a Lady Gaga Met moment, I’m in love."

Someone else said "Lil Nas X pulling a Lady Gaga and wearing three different outfits at the Met Gala...thank god one man isn't boring us to tears."

We wonder what Lady Gaga thought of it all?
