There's a new Netflix show to fill the Peaky Blinders shaped hole in your heart! House of Guinness premieres on 25th September with a cast who might look more than a little familiar. From James Norton to Louis Partridge, House of Guinness stars some truly outstanding actors portraying the Guinness family in 19th-century Ireland and New York. Anthony Boyle as Arthur Guinness
Who is Arthur Guinness? Arthur is the eldest brother of the Guinness family, Eton-educated and has spent most of his 20s in London.
What else has Anthony Boyle been in? If you're into Harry Potter, you might recognise Anthony Boyle (who plays one of Sir Benjamin Guinness's four sons) from a Tony-nominated stint as Scorpius Malfoy in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. But you also might know him for Manhunt or Masters of the Air. Either way!
Louis Partridge as Edward Guinness
Who is Edward Guinness? Edward is the youngest of the siblings, but in many ways is the most ambitious out of the family.
What else has Louis Patridge been in? If you're an Olivia Rodrigo fan there's no waaaaay you aren't well aware that she and Louis Partridge are dating. But on the off chance that you have no idea what I'm talking about, you also might know Louis from his starring role in the Enola Holmes movies, or from the best film of all time, Paddington.
Emily Fairn as Anne Plunket (née Guinness)
Who is Anne Plunket? Anne is inspired by the only daughter of Sir Benjamin, Anne Guinness. She is the eldest of the brood and the only woman. She was married off to an aristocrat 11 years older than her and is now quite physically frail.
What else has Emily Fairn been in? Emily has done a tonne of interesting work - including starring in The Responder with Martin Freeman on BBC. But if you haven't seen the series, you might recognise Emily from 2024's Saturday Night, where she played Laraine Newman.
Fionn O’Shea as Benjamin Guinness
Who is Benjamin Guinness? Ben is the neglected middle brother. He was written off by his father and siblings due to his lack of interest in the family business.
What else has Fionn O’Shea been in? Fionn's first movie New Boy got an Academy Award nomination for Best Live Action Short Film, and he's been working steadily since. Buuut you probably recognise him best from playing Jamie in Normal People.
James Norton as Sean Rafferty
Who is Sean Rafferty? Rafferty is the factory foreman. He's charming, womanising and sometimes ruthless. He'll do anything to protect the Guinness family.
What else has James Norton been in? On top of being on every "Who Will the Next James Bond Be?" list, James can be found in two incredible TV shows: Happy Valley (one of the best crime dramas ever made, fight me) and Grantchester (one of the cosiest TV shows ever made, fight me). Most recently he appeared in the BBC's King and Conqueror. He's also had a fleet of famous girlfriends, if you're respectfully curious about his relationship status.
Niamh McCormack as Ellen Cochrane
Who is Ellen Cochrane? Ellen is one half of the fiery Cochrane sibling duo. She is a passionate Irish Republican, who hates English and Protestant cause.
What else has Niamh been in? If Niamh looks familiar, that might be because this isn't her first Netflix rodeo. She also played Alison in the drama Everything Now, and had a role in The Witcher.
Seamus O’Hara as Patrick Cochrane
Who is Patrick Cochrane? Patrick is Ellen's older brother. He is quick to anger and passionately committed to the Irish Republican.
"Patrick is the leader of the Fenians — a revolutionary nationalist group operating in Ireland, as well as America and Britain. They were essentially a global group whose main aim was to attain Irish freedom from Britain," O’Hara said.
What else has Seamus O’Hara been in? O'Hara has some very impressive credits to his name - including appearing in an Oscar winning movie called An Irish Goodbye. On top of that, you might recognise him from Game of Thrones and The Northman, or Hope Street, Line of Duty, and Blue Lights.
Michael McElhatton as John Potter
Who is John Potter? Potter is an extremely loyal, refined, and dedicated servant to the Guinness family.
What else has Michael McElhatton been in? Michael has a lot of credits to his name, but gonna take a guess that your "wait, where do I recognise this man from" reaction is coming from the fact that he played Roose Bolton in Game of Thrones. Orrrrrr maybe his appearance in The Fall, Jack Ryan, or Chernobyl? He's been busy!
Dervla Kirwan as Aunt Agnes Guinness
Who is Agnes Guinness? Agnes is a sharp-witted matriarch. She works as a marriage fixer and is a key BTS operator. She is based on the Guinness siblings' real-life aunt.
What else has Dervla Kirwan been in? Dervla Kirwan was most recently in True Detective Night Country, but her resume is looooong. Like, it's definitely possible that you know her thanks to Law & Order SVU, Doctor Who, or, if you're me, Agatha Christie's Marple.
Michael Colgan as Reverend Henry Gratton
Who is Reverend Henry Gratton? Gratton is a dedicated preacher who is eager to claim as much of Sir Benjamin's inheritance for his charity work.
What else has Michael Colgan been in? Michael is a multi-hyphenate actor and an author, and has mostly been working in the UK. But it's possible you've seen him in Chernobyl, The Regime or Say Nothing.
Danielle Galligan as Lady Olivia Hedges
Who is Lady Olivia Hedges? Olivia is a young woman who comes from a poverty-stricken aristocratic family. She may not have money, but she has a title and she's sure her future husband’s money will give her the lifestyle she feels entitled to.
“It’s Olivia’s world, and we all just live in it! Let’s get that one straight," Galligan said.
What else has Danielle Galligan been in? Shadow and Bone fans will recognise her as Nina Zenik. She's also been in Lakelands and Obituary.
David Wilmot as Bonnie Champion
Who is Bonnie Champion? Bonnie is an intelligent and savage racketeer who runs the distribution of Guinness barrels from the docks of Dublin.
What else has David Wilmot been in? There are several reasons David Wilmot might look familiar to you. One: you watched The Tudors years ago (he played Sir Ralph Ellerker). Two you watched Station Eleven (he played Clark). Or three: Your parents keep telling you to watch Bodkin on Netflix (he plays Seamus). Either way, he's great!
Jessica Reynolds as Lady Christine O'Madden
Who is Lady Christine O'Madden? Christine is the daughter of a noble Irish family, who has her eye on one of the Guinness brothers.
What else has Jessica Reynolds been in? Are you an Outlander fan? Perfect, that is 100 percent where you know Jessica from - she plays Malva Christie in Season six!
Hilda Fay as Sultan
Who is Sultan? Sultan is a curious woman from the Irish countryside. When one of the Guinness siblings meets her their life as they know it changes forever.
What else has Hilda Fay been in? Hilda is a stage and television actress with plenty of credits to her name, but is probably best recognisable in the states for her role on Showtime's Woman in the Wall.
Ann Skelly as Adelaide Guinness
Who is Adelaide Guinness? Adelaide is a cousin to the Guinness siblings. A smart and confident young woman, Adelaide has no patience for the shallow mating rituals of her class.
What else has Ann Skelly been in? Not only does Ann play Lady Ethelfled in Vikings, she's Nuala in The Sandman. So chances are you've definitely seen her face on TV!
Elizabeth Dulau as Lady Henrietta St Lawrence
Who is Lady Henrietta St Lawrence? Lady Henrietta is a sweet young woman, who also has an interest in a Guinness brother. But, will she win in this harsh game of love?
What else has Elizabeth Dulau been in? Obsessed with Andor? Well Elizabeth played Kleya Marki. Also important, she voiced the deer in Wicked.
Jack Gleeson as Byron Hedges
Who is Byron Hedges? Hedges is a charming, ambitious, yet fickle individual who finds himself working with Edward Guinness. Byron is loyal only to himself though, and will play all sides to get what he wants.
What else has Jack Gleeson been in? The man needs no introduction. Jack is famous (infamous?) for playing Joffrey Baratheon in Game of Thrones, and has since stared in Sandman following a hiatus from acting.
