While we loved Leo Woodall in The White Lotus and One Day, reviews for his latest crime thriller are absolutely mega - with many calling it his best yet.

In Tuner, the 29-year-old actor stars as Niki White, a piano tuner with incredible sensitive hearing, who draws the attention of criminals thanks to the fact he's a dab hand at cracking open safes.

The film, which is out in UK cinemas on 29th May, sees him work alongside his mentor Harry Horowitz (played by Dustin Hoffman) to try and pull off the ultimate heist in New York City. Meanwhile, he's forming an unexpected connection with composition student Ruthie (Havana Rose Liu); a budding romance that might be threatened by an increasingly dangerous situation.

Ahead of its release, the first reviews are in - and it's safe to say Leo gives a scene-stealing performance. Many are calling it the performance of a lifetime, while others point to this being his chance to finally show what he's made of.

Reviews for Leo Woodall's Tuner

The Times say "Leo Woodall is exceptional, his best performance yet. The British actor gives a star-making performance as a piano tuner with hyper-sensitive hearing — and Dustin Hoffman is excellent as his mentor."

Time Out say "This is certainly Woodall’s best big-screen role to date and possibly his best full stop; he demonstrates real movie-star quality and holds the screen without a word for long stretches."

The Guardian say "Woodall’s breakout TV roles... offered a megawatt charisma, but for his biggest film role to date he dims it to a soft glow with gentle performance opposite Dustin Hoffman as one of a pair of New York piano tuners. And what a pair they are; they are a real pleasure to watch in an easy, unforced drama."

Empire say "Leo Woodall’s charm has already got him through a trip on the Italian coast, Netflix’s most devastating modern romance, and even a run-in with Bridget Jones, but with Tuner, he’s finally handed a true star vehicle, proving well and truly ready to take the wheel."
