After what has felt like an actual eternity (six days) The Celebrity Traitors is returning to our screens tonight (15 October), with the result of the first banishment due to take place in tonight's episode.

The season has been off to a terrific start with the three Traitors - Alan Carr, Cat Burns and Jonathan Ross, taking centre stage and doing some extremely meddling behaviour, including the murder of Paloma Faith in plain sight. But being a Traitor comes with a lot of responsibility, and Jonathan has expressed his own discomfort at playing the role during the series.

So what has he had to say about his experience on the BBC series? And how exactly did he rise to fame? Here's everything to know about The Celebrity Traitors' Jonathan Ross.

Jonathan's experience on The Celebrity Traitors

Jonathan was one of the three Traitors selected by Claudia Winkleman during episode one, and while he appears to be in his element, Jonathan has confessed he actually found the process very difficult.

Speaking on his podcast Reel Talk, alongside his daughter Honey, Jonathan said: "I know they're already planning a second celebrity version.

"I know because I've had two celebrity friends of mine call me and say 'I've been approached — is it good to do, is it bad to do?' So I'm giving them the benefit of my experience, which was I didn't enjoy it."

He then added: "I'm a Traitor, that's why. I found the lying really wearing, it left me feeling increasingly uncomfortable.

"We were lying all the time, because you're sharing a car in with people in the morning, and even though we're not supposed to be talking about the game but obviously some people do, so you're lying then.

"So you're guarding this secret that you have and others know that someone has. You're on the defence the whole time and you have to look people in the eye and lie."

Hopefully the lying got easier for Jonathan as the show went on.
