Ever since Rami Malek took on the iconic role of Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody, we've been obsessed with watching every other project he's been involved in - from the "nasty piece of work" villain Lyutsifer Safin in No Time To Die, to his Emmy award winning role in the TV series Mr Robot. And now we can continue our love of all things Malek as his latest movie The Amateur finally has a UK streaming release.
Released in cinemas earlier this year The Amateur is a high-stakes CIA thriller movie that has since been called "engaging and entertaining", with viewers saying "the suspense and tension kept growing" and it is an "edge of your seat kind of movie".
So what's it about? Well it stars Malek as Charlie Heller a CIA decoder who is used to working behind the scenes not in the main thrust of the action. However, his life gets turned upside down when his wife is killed in a terrorist attack in London.
His supervisors refuse to take any action on the attack and so Charlie takes things into his own hands and uses his intelligence and decoding skills to travel around the world and exact his revenge against those who plotted the attack.
Starring alongside Malek is Laurence Fishburne who plays Robert 'Hendo' Hendersen who is Charlie's mentor in the movie. Also in the cast are Rachel Brosnahan, Caitríona Balfe, and Michael Stuhlbarg.
The Amateur is actually a remake of the 1981 movie of the same name which is based on the novel by Robert Littell. Fun fact - Marthe Keller who starred in the original movie makes a cameo appearance in the new version as a florist in Paris.
The movie came out in cinemas in April earlier this year and now after much anticipation it was announced yesterday (9 July) it will be landing on Disney+ next week on 17 July.
Right now a Disney+ membership costs £4.99 a month for the standard membership with adverts, or for a plan without adverts it costs £8.99 a month or £89.90 annually. You can also get a premium subscription which allows you to stream on up to four devices at a time and download on 10 devices for £12.99 a month or £129.90 annually.
We know what we'll be watching next weekend.
