Who is Love Island's Shakira? From her age, job and Instagram, here's what you need to know

We're just over a week into Love Island series 12 and already there's been so much drama, in part thanks to OG Islander Shakira, who had an intense first few days in the villa.

From the first episode she was giving main character energy after she was given the tricky task of finding a boy to couple up with her in just 24 hours and since then the drama hasn't stopped following her around.

From Harry's trip to the hideaway, to Ben's crush confession, Shakira has dealt with a lot when it comes to these boys. But curious to know more about the woman behind the drama? Here's everything you need to know about Shakira.

Shakira is 22 years old making her one of the youngest Islanders in the villa this year alongside Tommy who is also 22.

Shakira is from Burnley in Lancashire.

Shakira works in marketing, but on the weekend she also earns extra dollar by dressing up as a Disney princess for kids' parties.

Ahead of going into the Love Island Villa, Shakira told ITV she wanted to find a man who is "is tall, charming, witty, with big arms, a good smile and just really funny." She also revealed her icks include: "Bag hygiene, like bad breath. I can't deal with it. Garlic breath or onion breath on a date is a big no-no."

Over the last few years Shakira has been very active on her TikTok. Back in 2022 she created a dedication video for her parents and their marriage. As part of this she revealed her parents were still together, had been married for 20 years and had six children.

Ok so after doing a deep dive in her TikTok, in the last few years there's been a number of videos Shakira has shared where she does indeed appear to be vaping.

If you want to keep up to date with everything Shakira gets up to after she leaves the Villa, then follow her on Instagram at the handle @shakirakhan16, where she has just over 40,000 followers. On her Instagram she regularly posts stunning pictures of herself and of the many holidays she goes on.

Over on TikTok her handle is @shakirakhannn and she has nearly 50,000 followers on the social media site. On TikTok she posts a lot of makeup and outfit videos as well as funny skits she does alongside her friends.

It's only been a week and already Shakira has had an eventful time. She was the first to enter the villa alongside Meg. During the initial challenge where the girls had to pick someone to couple up with based on their dating profile, Shakira picked taxi driver Ben.

The pair seemed to have a connection, however, Ben was taken off Shakira's hand by new bombshell Toni that very first night. Toni picked Ben to couple up with as soon as she entered the Villa, which left Shakira single.

Host Maya Jama then gave Shakira the very difficult task of having to find a new connection or risk being dumped the next day. She then spent all of Tuesday's episode talking to every boy to see who she had a connection with.

When Maya returned that evening three boys - Harry, Blu and Conor all wanted to recouple with Shakira. After a lot of deliberation Shakira chose to couple up with Harry leaving Sophie single and therefore dumped from the Island.

However, not only was Harry interested in Shakira, he also had a thing for Helena which he carried on pursuing and Shakira also carried on chatting to Blu.

Blu ended up taking Shakria to the Hideaway where he kissed her. Following this, Harry and Helena snuck into the Hideaway and stayed there overnight.

That following morning Shakira ended things with Harry, who still said the door was open between them. However, for Shakira that door was firmly closed.

She then began chatting Ben again after he confessed he was still interested in getting to know her. And since then they've been pretty smooth sailing, with Shakira choosing Ben at the next recoupling.

Good for Shakira, the poor woman needs a break from the drama.
