As of Thursday 22nd April, Netflix's YOU is back on our screens and there's a newcomer in town, with actress Madeline Brewer joining the cast.
The fifth and final season of the Netflix thriller will see Joe Goldberg, played by Penn Badgley, returning to New York to set up life with his wife Kate Lockwood (Charlotte Ritchie). But, a lot has changed for Joe since he last lived in NYC...
No longer a working class shop assistant, Joe is now part of the elite, following his marriage to Kate, who is now the billionaire CEO of Lockwood Corporations, following the passing of her father.
As Joe struggles to get to grips with his newfound wealth, he finds himself heading back to his roots at Mooney’s Bookstore and the freedom of downtown, where he meets free-spirit Bronte, played by none other than Madeline Brewer.
"Joe doesn’t feel great about anything, really. He’s trying to stomach being one of the 0.01%, a billionaire," Badgley tells Tudum. "He’s fooling himself, but he’s doing a pretty good job, as he always does."

Who is YOU's Bronte?
Bronte is Mooney's latest employee.
Speaking of her character, Brewer said: "She likes romance novels, fairy smut, and internet sleuthing. That’s Bronte,” Brewer told Tudum.
She added: "Bronte’s very intrigued by him. They’re both big book nerds, writers, and enchanted by New York City, and Mooney’s specifically. Bronte reminds Joe of himself, in a way."
On YOU, which is based on Caroline Kepnes’ best-selling novel of the same name, she gushed: "I loved it. I watched every season as soon as they came out."
Joe can't help but be drawn to Bronte, which viewers will witness in the new series.
"She’s the archetype of the manic pixie dream girl. She’s got this tattered cardigan hanging off her shoulders with a short skirt and Doc Martens. This dramatic, kind of sexy little bob. And she’s talking about books," Badgley said.

Madeline Brewer is an American actress best known for her roles in Orange Is the New Black and The Handmaid's Tale.
Last year March, Brewer was announced as part of the cast for the final season of YOU. She'll join Badgley, Charlotte Ritchie, Griffin Matthews, and more.

Brewer made her debut with the recurring role of Tricia Miller in the Netflix series Orange Is the New Black.
This was followed by a recurring role as Miranda Cates in Hemlock Grove, which is also on Netflix.
In 2o16, she appeared in the 'Men Against Fire' episode of Black Mirror season 3.
In 2017, Brewer began starring in the Hulu series The Handmaid's Tale as Janine Lindo, for which she received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series at the 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards in 2021.
Brewer has reprised her role as Janine in the sixth and final season of the show, which is currently airing in the US and will come to the UK from Saturday 3rd May.

The actress is engaged to cinematographer Jack Thompson-Roylance, who popped the question in January 2024 in New York.
The couple are currently planning their big day, with Brewer telling PEOPLE in March that things were "[going] great. We're so excited."
She added: "He's here somewhere. Wedding planning is insane, especially having two shows come out in April, but we're getting through it."
