The sixth and final season of The Handmaid's Tale is current airing over in the US, meaning the horrors of Gilead flashing across our screens is finally coming to an end (well, until the inevitable re-watch, that is). It's been almost three years since the finale of season 5 aired and in that time, the anticipation for season 6 has grown to the size of a Canadian rescue plane.
We were left on quite the cliffhanger at the end of season 5 with June and Serena both escaping on a train headed out west, Luke being hauled off by the Canadian authorities, Janine being taken away from the Lawrence's household, and Nick being detained after punching Commander Lawrence in the face. Oh, and who could forget the failed attempt to raid the school Hannah goes to (Hannah, by the way, is STILL stuck in Gilead).
There's so much that has to happen in season 6 and I, for one, cannot wait. If you're in the same boat and need to know exactly when each episode of season 6 is coming out in the UK, we've got some information for you.
When did The Handmaid's Tale season 6 premiere?
Season 6 premiered on Hulu on 8th April in the US. It technically launched at midnight EST on the 8th, but 9 p.m. PST on the 7th. A total of three episodes dropped at once, which was a much welcomed gift.
When will The Handmaid's Tale season 6 air in the UK?
According to The Independent, UK fans can start watching the new series on Amazon Prime Video from Saturday, 3rd May.
The publication added: "Channel 4 is expected to share the broadcast rights once again. While the broadcaster hasn’t confirmed a release date just yet, it’s likely the series will air simultaneously with its Prime Video launch."
We'll update you right here with a full UK release schedule once we have it.
For the time being, you can catch up on seasons 1-5 over on Amazon Prime Video or Channel 4.com.
How many episodes are in The Handmaid's Tale season 6?
For the final season of The Handmaid's Tale, we're sadly not getting any extra episodes, but the good news is we're not getting any fewer, either.
There will be exactly 10 episodes this season, leaving us with roughly 10 hours to wrap up this terrifying(ly realistic) saga. I don't know about you but I'm both sad and somewhat relieved for it to be coming to an end.
