Breaking news from the great land of Westeros, a brand new Game of Thrones spin-off series is on its way!

That’s right, move over House of the Dragon because A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is coming to explore a world set a century before we even knew who Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen were.

Is there a first look at A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms?

Yes! On 4th August, Max (previously known as HBO) shared a highlights reel of all the series we can expect to see in 2024 and 2025, and among the trailer was a short clip of A Knight of The Seven Kingdoms.

In the clip Ser Duncan can be seen introducing himself and getting into a few battles, watch the full clip here at the 1:10 mark:

What is A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms about?

The official synopsis for the series is here and as follows, “A century before the events of Game of Thrones, two unlikely heroes wandered Westeros… a young, naïve but courageous knight, Ser Duncan the Tall, and his diminutive squire, Egg.

“Set in an age when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne, and the memory of the last dragon has not yet passed from living memory, great destinies, powerful foes and dangerous exploits all await these improbable and incomparable friends.” Can’t wait!

Who is the cast of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms?

Our leading actors were announced on 5 April, and they are Peter Claffey and Dexter Sol Ansell, who will play Ser Duncan the Tall and his squire, Egg.

You might recognise Peter from Vikings: Valhalla while Dexter recently portrayed the child version of Coriolanus Snow in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.

Also confirmed to part of the first season are Finn Bennett as Aerion Targaryen, Bertie Carvel as Baelor Targaryen, Tanzyn Crawford as Tanselle, Daniel Ings as Ser Lyonel Baratheon and Sam Spurell as Maekar Targaryen.

How many episodes will there be of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms?

According to The Hollywood Reporter, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms will be six episodes, making it shorter than the 10-episode first seasons of Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon.

What is the release date for A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms?

There’s no news from Westeros on an exact release date just yet, but we can expect A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms to air sometime in 2025.
