I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! 2023 is set to return to our screens later this week, with the premiere episode dropping on 19th November on ITV1. Get ready for a brand new group of celebs competing for stars, surviving on rice and beans, and plenty of camp gossip.
There may still be a few days to go before the launch episode but the 10 celebrities heading into the jungle have already been announced, and among them is former MP and leader of UKIP Nigel Farage.
Nigel's appearance on the show has prompted a rather mixed reaction from fans, with many also wondering how much Nigel is getting paid to be on the show.
Well, according to a report in the Mail Online Nigel Farage is being paid a whopping £1.5million to appear on this year's I'm a Celebrity, making him the highest paid campmate in the series' 21 year history.
Previously that title was thought to be held by Noel Edmonds who was said to be paid £600,000 to appear on the show in 2018.
Nigel's appearance on I'm a Celebrity follows the show's recent trend of casting controversial politicians, with former Health Secretary Matt Hancock appearing on the show last year, where he was said to be paid £400,000 and was frequently voted by the public to compete in the bushtucker trials.
Nigel has already envisioned he will be competing in a number of trials as he believes he is "hated" by many members of the public.
He said: "Given millions hate me, I do expect people will vote for me to do trials! My crime was to stand against an establishment view and I was for many years the lone voice saying Europe wasn’t where we should be, so I have been a little bit demonised. I am hoping those who hate me might hate me a little bit less afterwards. But it’s a gamble.
“And the idea that somehow the things I represent -mean-spirited, small-minded, nasty, the ‘little Englander’ - all those accusations that have been flung at me over the years just aren’t true. If we can dispel some of those misconceptions, then that will be a good thing too.”
Nigel is particularly not looking forward to having anything to do with rats, snakes or heights. Er, you may not want to have signed up for I'm a Celebrity then Nigel.
I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here begins on ITV1 and ITVX from 19th November
