True crime fans, your time has come as the season three finale of Only Murders in the Building is here.
We headed back to the Arconia for more murder mystery with Selena Gomez, Steve Martin and Martin Short returning as Mabel, Charles and Oliver, and this time, they're trying to find out who killed Ben Glenroy.
Was it Loretta? Dickie? Tobert? We need to know! So, without further ado, here is the ending of Only Murders in the Building season three explained.
Donna and Cliff killed Ben Glenroy
After Loretta (Meryl Streep) confesses to the murder of Ben Glenroy (Paul Rudd) to protect her son, Dickie (Jeremy Shamas), Mabel, Charles and Oliver start sleuthing to reveal who the real killer is.
After piecing together Ben’s whereabouts on opening night through confessional tapes from the Broadway cast, they conclude that Donna (Linda Emond) gave Ben a poisoned cookie after she discovered the bad review the play was going to get because of his performance.
Donna admits that she only meant for him to get sick so he couldn’t perform and also reveals that she has cancer. But, when she also says she pushed Ben down the lift, Mabel isn’t convinced.
She soon realises that after Ben burst through the doors of Oliver’s party alive and well, Cliff (Wesley Taylor) finished off the job after getting into an argument with Ben and accidentally pushing him down the lift to his death. Then, Donna lied to protect her son. So, both Donna and Cliff are arrested for murdering Ben Glenroy.
Loretta and Tobert move to LA
Then, Oliver hosts his Death Rattle after party where everyone shows up to celebrate the show and it’s glowing review. Here, Dickie (who now knows Loretta is his mother) tells Loretta she’s been offered more acting roles in Los Angeles, to which Oliver says he’ll come and visit.
Plus, after Tobert tells Mabel he wants her to move to LA with him, she declines but says she’ll visit him, too.
Sazz is shot
Then, Charles’ long-time friend and stunt double, Sazz Pataki (Jane Lynch) arrives at the party. He then tells everyone he is going to go upstairs to get some wine, and Sazz tells him that she needed to speak with him about a “sensitive” matter, but, she never gets the chance.
She goes upstairs to get the wine instead and here, she is shot dead. So, who shot Sazz? Plus, as we can safely assume the bullet was meant for Charles, who wants him dead? We need season four!
