Love Island Reunion presenter Laura Whitmore has responded to criticism after claims Islanders Kaz Kamwi and Tyler Cruickshank were treated differently from the other contestants.
Following the very dramatic Love Island Reunion show fans quickly took to Instagram to air one major complaint: that finalists Kaz and Tyler didn't get to go up to the sofa to be interviewed about their time in the villa. Instead the pair remained at their table while the other six finalists all joined Whitmore on the sofa at various points in the show.
One viewer wrote, "So all finalists Millie Liam, Toby, Chloe, Faye and Teddy are on the main sofa but not Kaz and Tyler?" Another pointed out that Islanders who'd left the show before Kaz and Tyler, such as Hugo, were also interviewed up on stage, despite not having made it as far as the fourth-place couple.
Now, presenter Laura Whitmore has responded to the criticism in a statement on her Instagram Story. She stated that the seating arrangement is not up to her and that Kaz had been given the option to come to the sofa for Toby's exes segment.
"Hundreds of people work on Love Island, my job is not to organise seating arrangements. I barely know what seat I'm sitting in before the show as the set changes so much 🙄 ," she wrote.
"We invited Kaz to sit with Toby for his exes segment but she didn't want to and it's her choice to make. Everything is run through with the islanders before hand [sic]. It's all about choice!"
But fans weren't happy with this response, with many of them asking why Kaz was invited up to the sofa for Toby's exes segment rather than with Tyler as a couple in their own right.
It's safe to say that people aren't happy about this and it doesn't seem like these Instagram Stories have helped.
