In an Unseen Bits clip that aired over the weekend, Love Island's Teddy Soares shocked fans โ€“ and partner Faye Winters โ€“ when he revealed he's a real life prince on the outside world. Yep, you read that right, a prince.

Speaking to his fellow Islanders, Teddy opened up about his royal connections. "I'm going to say something so shocking," he teased, before admitting he was a former prince of Nigeria's Delta State.

"Youโ€™re a prince of what, sorry?" asked a shocked Lucinda Strafford, while Faye added, "Sorry, one more time, just run it past me."

Giving the lowdown on his royal lineage, Teddy explained "Itโ€™s like a village, it's within the Delta State village."

"So my grandad has obviously passed away so Iโ€™m no longer actually prince, I was a prince," he added.

Partner Faye quickly headed to the Beach Hut to express her shock at the revelation. "Teddy was once a prince! Are you joking?" she said, "I mean I've definitely got to stop with burping now, I might have to just stop and lay off the swearing so much but I think I've got this y'know."

Faye wasn't the only one with something to say about the news. Love Island fans took to Twitter to share their excitement over Prince Teddy.

"Teddy was a prince. Can he get any more perfect," tweeted one viewer, "Teddy may no longer be a prince but heโ€™s still definitely a king," another added, with a third saying "Of course Teddy was a Nigerian prince before, I swear that man is perfect."

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub.
