With her own self-tanning brand, a six figure fashion deal and over 5.6 million followers on Instagram, Molly-Mae Hague is perhaps the most successful contestant to come out of Love Island after appearing on the series in 2019. But speaking in a Q&A on her YouTube channel, the former Islander admitted she's distanced herself from the show in recent years.
When asked why she doesn't answer questions about the current series or tweet much about the show, she admitted she didn't want to be put back into the Love Island bracket.
"Obviously the last two years I have spent so much time not necessarily removing myself, because my job was an influencer before, but I wanted to go back to what I was doing before without that brand of being a Love Islander or just being known for that," she said.
She continued, "I definitely have spent a lot of time since I came out of the show removing myself from that stereotype and by doing that I just don't speak about it a lot."
But, she made an exception to speak about the social media trolling that bombshell Chloe Burrows received after entering the villa.
"I did see that Chloe's family had to put a statement out asking people to lay off the hate," she told her 1.5 million YouTube subscribers.
"It made me really sad to see, because I imagine my sister and my family could really relate to that and I'm surprised my family didn't do something like that while I was in there because I was pretty bad for the hate," she added.
After reaching the final of her series on Love Island with boyfriend Tommy Fury, the pair moved in together and recently celebrated their two year anniversary.
