Earlier this week ITV2 came to our summer TV schedule rescue by revealing they would be airing Love Island Australia after the UK series had to be cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
"Bring on the Bombshells, the Bromances and a little bit of Naughty Naughty! It’s the Love Island you love, just with a different accent. Bring it on!" ITV2 announced, and we're very much sold - even if it is a re-run of a previous season.
Here's everything you need to know about Love Island Australia:
What Love Island Australia season is ITV2 airing?
Fans will get to watch the first ever season of the Australian version of the show, which was filmed in 2018. It's exactly the same set up, with 10 single Aussies heading into a luxury villa in Mallorca in a bid to find love and win the cash prize of $50,000 (£26,337).
Who's in the Love Island Australia cast?
Meet the original 10 contestants who entered the villa:
- Cassidy McGill - lifestyle and beauty influencer from Melbourne (24)
- Eden Dally - former prison officer from Sydney (27)
- Grant Crapp - clothing brand owner and electrician from Sydney (24)
- Erin Barnett - nurse from Melbourne (25)
- Taylor Damir - former Miss Universe finalist and radio host from Perth (23)
- Charlie Taylor - rugby player, aspiring model and actor from Sydney (24)
- Millie Fuller - doggy daycare worker from Sydney (25)
- Josh Moss - sports administrator from Sydney (26)
- Justin Lacko - model and TV host from Melbourne (28)
- Natasha Cherie - a beautician and salon owner from Perth (25)
Who presents Love Island Australia?
Sophie Monk hosts the show. You might recognise her from girl band Bardot or acting roles in the likes of Adam Sandler comedy Click, Date Movie and Spring Breakdown. She also won the fourth season of Celebrity Apprentice Australia and had a judging role on Australia's Got Talent's eighth season alongside Kelly Osbourne, Eddie Perfect and Ian Dickson.
Meanwhile, Irish radio star Eoghan Dermott is the show's narrator. Eoghan started out as an actor and now narrates a number of TV and radio jobs, including The Voice of Ireland.
When will Love Island Australia air on ITV2?
Love Island Australia will air on ITV2 from June 15th and, just like the UK version, it will be on at 9pm every week night.
Mark it in your diaries, people.
